ARCHITECTURE AND THE INTERIOR_TU DELFT

The Chair of Architectural Design / Interiors of the Faculty of Architecture of Delft University of Technology invites you to a one-day international conference entitled Architecture and the Interior on Thursday 23 May.

The conference serves as a mark of the work and discourse of the Chair’s programme ‘Interiors, Buildings and Cities’ for the past fifteen years as directed by Prof Tony Fretton, and an introduction to the work within the Chair in the future, in its new programme ‘The Architecture of the Interior’, whose objective is to address, directly, the interior as an object of cultural and specifically architectural attention.

The morning session will concern the themes of the course during Tony Fretton’s tenure, and will include talks from Tony Fretton (TU Delft / Tony Fretton architects), Christoph Grafe (Bergische Universität Wuppertal / VAi), Peter St John (Caruso St John architects) and Tom Avermaete (TU Delft), followed by a round table discussion. The afternoon session will consider the subject and themes of ‘The Architecture of the Interior’. This session will consist of talks by Mark Pimlott (TU Delft), Gennaro Postiglione (Politecnico di Milano), Jan Benthem (Benthem + Crouwel architecten) and Kersten Geers (OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen). A round-table discussion between individuals drawn from practice and society will be moderated by Saskia van Stein (artistic director NAiM / Bureau Europa).
